'Strong Wool-Kim Dong-jin expunged' Samsung coach Park Jin-man "hasn't been feeling well lately"
Samsung manager Park Jin-man high-fives Doosan Bears' Kim Hyun-joon, who scored on a single by Kang Kang-wool with runners on first and third in the ninth inning during the baseball game between the Samsung Lions and Doosan Bears at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on Aug. 9.
After two straight losses, the Samsung Lions look to turn things around with a lineup change.
The Samsung Lions have waived infielders Kang Kang-ul and Kim Dong-jin and outfielder Ryu Seung-min ahead of their game against the Doosan Bears in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on August 9.
All three have been struggling lately.
Kang is batting just .208 in his last 10 games and went 1-for-4 in the previous game. Kim Dong-jin hasn't been great either, batting just 0.158 in his last 10 games. In particular, he made a costly error against the Lotte Giants on April 7.
Ryu Seung-min hasn't played since the first game against the NC Dinos and was eventually dropped from the first team roster.
When asked before the game, Samsung manager Park Jin-man briefly explained the reason for the exclusion, saying, "He hasn't been in good shape lately."
Samsung filled the vacant spots with infielder Ahn Joo-hyung and pitchers Choi Ji-kwang and Choi Ha-neul.
Choi Ji-kwang made his first appearance since being waived on July 29. With Samsung's bullpen struggling at the moment, Choi should be a boost.
Park said, "I called him up because he's in good shape. The team has been depleted in the bullpen lately, and I think we have a player who can help," Park said.
Choi Ha-neul will start the second game of the doubleheader on the 9th. She has made one start for the first team this season and has one loss.
"I'm not too worried because (David) Buchanan is starting the first game," Park said. It will be good if Buchanan can pitch as many innings as possible because it's been a long time since he started." casinosite.zone
