Asia's best sports festival for the disabled is held in Hangzhou, China.

The 4th Hangzhou Asian Para Games opens in Hangzhou on the 22nd and continues until the 28th.

The Asian Para Games were first held in Oita, Japan in 1975 and were held under the name of the Asia-Pacific Para Games until the 2006 Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

And starting from the 2010 Guangzhou Games, it will be integrated with the Asian Games for the non-disabled and held at the same location. This is the 4th time.

More than 3,700 athletes from 44 countries will participate in this competition, and a total of 616 medals will be awarded in 22 events.

The official sports of the Hangzhou Asian Para Games include archery, track and field, badminton, judo, weightlifting, shooting, rowing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair tennis, baduk, chess, lawnball, boccia, canoeing, cycling, and visual soccer. , sitting volleyball, and goalball, there are 22 of them.

The actual game began on the 19th with wheelchair basketball.

Bowling, which brought Korea 12 gold medals at the Jakarta-Palembang Games five years ago, was excluded from the Hangzhou Games.

The Korean team dispatched 345 people (208 players and 137 officials) to 21 sports, excluding visual soccer, to this tournament.

3rd place at the 2010 Guangzhou Games (27 gold, 43 silver, 33 bronze), 2nd place at the 2014 Incheon Games (72 gold, 62 silver, 77 bronze), and 2nd place at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games. (53 gold, 45 silver, 46 bronze).

However, in this tournament, bowling, which was once a golden field, was not included in the official event, so the goal is to place 4th overall.

The slogan of the Hangzhou Asian Games is ‘Hearts Meet, Dreams Shine’.

The official mascot of the competition is the bird ‘Feifei’. The idea was taken from the ‘sacred bird’ of the prehistoric Hangzhou Liangzhou culture.

North Korea, which participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games for non-disabled players that ended earlier this month, will not participate in this year's Asian Games for the disabled.

After being informed that the national flag could not be flown at this competition in accordance with the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the team withdrew from sending the team.

North Korea jointly entered with South Korea at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
