KBO Awards Ceremony Held on the 27th The Inaugural Winner of the KBO Defense Award wWill also be aAwarded.






KBO will hold the '2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Awards Ceremony' at the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul at 2 p.m. on the 27th.

At this awards ceremony, the MVP and Rookie Award winners who performed best in the 2023 KBO regular season will be announced, and the inaugural winners of the KBO Defense Award

newly established this year, will be presented. 

Awards will also be given to the top players and excellent referees in each individual category of the KBO League and Futures League.

To select the MVP and Rookie of the Year award winners

the KBO conducted a preliminary online vote by reporters from media outlets affiliated with the Korea Baseball Writers Association and reporters in charge of each regional media after the end of the regular season.

A total of 16 players were registered as MVP candidates among the top players in each individual category and players selected as eligible candidates by the Korea Baseball Writers Association (SSG Seo Jin-yong, Choi Jeong, Kiwoom Jurado

Kim Hye-seong, LG Austin, Hong Chang-ki, KT Go Young-pyo, Park Young-hyun, Cuevas , NC Peddie, Son Ah-seop, Samsung Buchanan, Koo Ja-wook, Doosan Alcantara, Su-bin Jeong, Hanwha Noh Si-hwan).

A total of 10 candidates for the Rookie Award were selected among players who met the criteria in accordance with Article 7 of the KBO commendation regulations (Kiwoom Kim Dong-heon, Lee Joo-hyung, LG Yoo Young-chan
KIA Yoon Young-cheol, Choi Ji-min, Lotte Kim Min-seok, Yoon Dong-hee, Doosan Kim Dong-ju, Hanwha Moon Dong-ju, Moon Hyun-bin) .

108 pitchers, 14 catchers, and 53 infielders and outfielders were nominated for the KBO Defensive Award, which was introduced for the first time this year. 

The KBO selected a total of 9 inaugural winners

1 person from each position, through defensive indicators (25%) and selection votes (75%) from each club's voting panel (1 manager, 9 coaches, 1 general manager). 

The winner of the Defense Award will receive a trophy and a prize of 2 million won.

The first-place player and excellent referee in each KBO League division will be awarded a trophy and a prize of 3 million won, and the first-place player in each Futures League division will be awarded a trophy and a prize of 1 million won.

Baseball fans can also enjoy the vivid award ceremony scene. 

Admission tickets will be given to 25 people (2 tickets per person
